The Way to Function in the World

Releasing Your Psychological Attachment

Forgiving the World

It's by forgiving the world that you will awaken, and realize that you never left Heaven, and have remained exactly as God created you, which is perfect spirit. As J puts it, reminding us again that his themes in the Course are simple and consistent, 'You are as God created you. All else but this one thing is folly to believe. In this one thought is everyone set free. In this one truth are all illusions gone. In this one fact is sinlessness proclaimed to be forever part of everything, the central core of its existence and its guarantee of immortality.'

But always remember the forgiveness that leads to this experience must be done at the level of cause and not effect, as J points out very early in the Text, 'You must change your mind, not your behavior, and this is a matter of willingness. What you DO is Forgive

Helping people stay focused isn’t as easy as you might think. For example, the most popular teacher of A Course in Miracles, at least before you, (Gary Renard) came along, has repeatedly put people’s focus on fixing up the dream instead of waking up from it.

For those who contend that the Course says you should do certain things in the world, there’s an early quote that says, ‘Listen to my voice, learn to undo error, and do something (act) to correct it.’ Well, what you do is give it to the Holy Spirit, who is in the mind. It’s never about doing anything in the world. Never! If you’re inspired to do something after you forgive, fine. But that’s never the focus of the Course. Healing Your Unconscious Guilt

Given that the Course is the only teaching that not only addresses but completely explains the issue of unconscious guilt, it shows you how vital it is to make this teaching more available to people. Right now most of the people who teach the Course don't even understand it. And the ones who quote from it without teaching it certainly don't understand it. They take lines from it out of context to support what they're teaching. But what the Course is teaching is that you can undo the ego that's in your mind, have the Holy Spirit heal all of your unconscious guilt, and be free.

Forgiving Over and Over...

Repetition is important not just in learning right minded ideas, but in practicing forgiveness. Sometimes it may look like you're forgiving the same thing over and over again. You forgive the people you work with. Then you go back there the next day, and they're still there! But even if it looks like you're forgiving the same thing, that's an illusion too. What is Death?

Death is symbolic of your illusory separation from God. What happens when someone you love appears to die? All of a sudden you're separate. You appear to lose them just like you appeared to lose God. But it's not true. You can't really lose them any more than you can lose God. You are inseparable. You Can't Spiritualize What's Not Spiritual

War isn't art, it's psychosis. But why shouldn't you try to spiritualize it? You try to spiritualize everything else. I'm not just talking about Sun Tsu's "The Art of War." About Reincarnation

Reincarnation is only something that appears to happen; you’re just dreaming that you’re going from one body to the next. People will have unconscious resistance to practicing true forgiveness because the ego senses this is its end, and would rather kill you than have you kill it. There are teachers who will tell you to make friends with your ego or make peace with your ego as a way of dealing with it. All that will do is keep it in place. It gives you the opportunity to commune with the Holy Spirit and ultimately, God.
