Symbols

It's only through disciplined application that the practitioner can enter the glorious phase of experience. And I guarantee you, dear brother, that experience is the only thing that will ever make you happy. Words will never do it; intellectual concepts, theology, philosophical speculation – forget it. As J says in the Course, ‘…words are but symbols of symbols. They are thus twice removed from reality.’

And when you think about it, how is a symbol of a symbol ever going to make you happy? No. The only thing that will make you happy is the experience of what you really are. What will truly satisfy you is not a symbol of reality, but an experience of reality.  ~ Your Immortal Reality

Have to Heal the Cause

Only false healing can give way to fear, so sickness will be free to strike again. False healing can indeed remove a form of pain and sickness. But the cause remains, and will not lack effects.

You Don't See With Your Eyes

When you are apparently awake during the day and you have your eyes open, it’s not really the body’s eyes you are seeing with any more than when you’re asleep at night dreaming. It’s always your mind that is seeing. It’s always your mind that is hearing and feeling and doing the other things you give the body’s senses credit for. There is no exception to this. As you're walking through you dream movie, which you wrote and directed and then forgot about so it would seem real, forgive what you made and return to God. Formula of Forgiveness

Here's an outline; a companion to the Course's formula of forgiveness, which says:
a) that the cause should be identified
b) then let go, and
c) be replaced.

That's the way to remember God. The Course also says that the first two steps in this process require your cooperation. The final one does not. In other words, the Holy Spirit's part is not your responsibility. That's why you have to trust Him. Still, it's helpful to think of yourself as choosing His strength, because ultimately you are exactly the same as Him and Christ. Through true forgiveness, you are becoming aware that you are the same as J and the Holy Spirit - One with God and Christ.

Co-Creator with God

There’s nothing meaningful in the concept of being a ‘co-creator’ with God on the level of the world, because J is saying that the only meaningful thing the mind can do that involves any kind of creative ability is to give up whatever appears to be separate.
