Forgiveness is Practical

Forgiveness is where the rubber meets the road. Without forgiveness, metaphysics are useless. That's why the Course is practical. In the end, there are really only two things you can do. As the Course teaches, "He who would not forgive must judge, for he must justify his failure to forgive."

The Course is Consistent

The Course is saying the same thing all the way through. From the Text, to the Workbook, and through the Manual, the Course is a purely non-dualistic teaching. It’s consistent. Breaking Free of the Ego's Script

When you appear to choose forgiveness on this level - and I say you appear to choose it here because you're not actually here - as you make your choice here, the Holy Spirit then gets the message to your entire mind. It doesn't matter that you can't see it. You're being healed on a larger level whenever you choose the Holy Spirit's alternative instead of the ego's plan. You've been programmed to play out the ego's script, but you can and will break free of that program. God Doesn't Interact with the World

God Could Not Create Anything Not Perfect

Pure non-dualism recognizes the authority of God so completely that it relinquishes all psychological attachment to anything that is not God. This attitude also recognizes what some people have called the "like from like" principle, which says that anything coming from God must be like Him. Pure non-dualism is not willing to compromise on this principle either. Rather, it says that anything that comes from God must be exactly like Him. God could not create anything that is not perfect or else He wouldn't be perfect. The logic of that is flawless. If God is perfect and eternal, then by definition anything He creates would also have to be perfect and eternal. ~ The Disappearance of the Universe

Heaven or Illusion

There is no life outside of Heaven. Where God created life, there life must be. In any state apart from Heaven life is illusion. At best it seems like life; at worst, like death. Yet both are judgments on what is not life, equal in their inaccuracy and lack of meaning. Forgiveness is an Attitude

Forgiveness is an attitude. Everything you learn becomes incorporated into that attitude until forgiveness happens automatically. For most people, especially during the first few years, forgiveness requires that you think about it. You become a master by having forgiving thought processes. These right-minded thoughts eventually dominate your mind instead of the ego. Using your understanding of the Course's entire thought system contributes to and strengthens your attitude of forgiveness.

Reincarnation is an Illusion

The reason the Course says that reincarnation isn’t true is because it’s an illusion. It appears to happen, but you never really go into a body, it’s an optical illusion. The Course teaches that the body doesn’t even exist. So how could you really be going into one? As the Course says, ‘The body does not exist except as a learning device for the mind. This learning device is not subject to errors of its own, because it cannot create. Complancency is a Trap

It should be pointed out that people who are not as successful in the world have a tendency to get more out of the Course than highly successful people. Some of the people who appear to have it made in the world, and who are relatively satisfied with their lot in life, are actually falling into a trap. The ego sucks them into thinking the world is a good place. What's really happening is that they're living one of the few lifetimes where good karma is called for in the script, so they have a good time. ~ The Disappearance of the Universe

The Ego is a Killer (But God Isn't)

Never forget that the ego is a killer, so it wants you to think God is a killer and fear Him. The very best way to keep itself going is to suck you into reacting to the script so you'll make it real in your mind. The ego wants conflict, and if you react with any negative emotion, that's conflict. Being Happy No Matter What

The result of practicing true forgiveness will leave you with the potential to attain the very same peace of God as J. Right now, you believe that certain things have to happen in the world (and in your personal life) in order for you to be happy. Death is Symbolic of Separation

Death is symbolic of your illusory separation from God. What happens when someone you love appears to die? All of a sudden you're separate. You appear to lose them just like you appeared to lose God. But it's not true. You can't really lose them any more than you can lose God. You are inseparable. Advanced Forgiveness

The Course says, "There is no world!' If there is no world, then there's nothing to forgive, and recognizing that fact in the events, situations, and people you see is advanced forgiveness, because now you're not forgiving other people for something they've really done, you're recognizing that they haven't really done anything. Heaven: Better Than Sex

The physical act of sex doesn't even come close to the incredible bliss of Heaven. It's just a poor, made-up imitation of union with God. It's a false idol made to fix your attention on the body and the world with just enough of a payoff to keep you coming back for more. It's very similar to a narcotic. Heaven, on the other hand, is a perfect, indescribable ecstasy that never ceases; the very peak of a perfect sexual orgasm, except this orgasm never stops. It keeps going on forever with no decrease in its powerful and flawless intensity.

How to Achieve World Peace

The Course teaches that you don't have to change anybody's mind and you don't have to change your world. All you have to do is change your mind about the world.

For example, don't worry about world peace. The best way for you to help bring world peace is to practice forgiveness yourself, and share the experience with people. When the people of the world finally seek real inner peace by understanding and correctly applying the law of forgiveness, then the seemingly outer peace must follow.
