The Course is Required

The Course is required because it expresses the truth. I'm sorry if that sounds arrogant. It doesn't mean that the Course is the only way for anyone to ever find the truth. The truth is an awareness – not a book. But you can’t find this awareness alone. Can a sick mind heal itself? On the level of the world, the answer is no. You need help. You need the miracle.

The time that you choose to learn and apply what the Course teaches is up to you. You can delay as long as you want. The curriculum has already been established. You can elect what you want to learn at a given time but you will eventually realize that there are really only two things to choose from, rather than the myriad of choices you presently believe are open to you. The Course does not claim to be superior to any other spiritual path, yet at the same time it doesn't make any secret about the fact that it is ultimately, absolutely necessary for you to learn it.  ~ The Disappearance of the Universe

Receiving Inspiration via True Forgiveness

Prayer is for Forgiveness

Prayer is a way of asking for something. It is the medium of miracles. But the only meaningful prayer is for forgiveness, because those who have been forgiven have everything. Once forgiveness has been accepted, prayer in the usual sense becomes utterly meaningless. The prayer for forgiveness is nothing more than a request that you may be able to recognize what you already have.

No Substitute for Forgiveness

The best form of meditation is The Song of Prayer: The secret of true prayer is to forget the things you think you need. That kind of meditation actually reflects the original form of prayer, which was silent and really about joining with God. By putting God first, and acknowledging Him as your one true Source, it not only helps to undo the separation in your mind, but can also result in the aftereffect of inspiration.

Remember something though: There is no substitute for practicing forgiveness, and that's the spiritual "life in the fast lane" that our brother J was teaching by both word and example 2000 years ago.

Only True Forgiveness Works

It's only true forgiveness that undoes the ego. Without it, little progress is made. It's all about how you think. If you think the person you're seeing is a body, then you're a body. Choosing Spirit instaed of the Ego

The body doesn’t exist and can’t create, and all the mind can do is choose spirit instead of the ego and its projections, a projection being anything that appears to be separate from anything, and that would include the body.

There’s nothing meaningful in the concept of being a ‘co-creator’ with God on the level of the world, because J is saying that the only meaningful thing the mind can do that involves any kind of creative ability is to give up whatever appears to be separate. It's a Tree-Eat-Tree World

As just one example of spiritualizing objects, you romanticize the South American rainforest by thinking it's one of the holiest spots on earth. The Innocence of Hitler

Gary: How can a man like Hitler be innocent?

Pursah: That's a typical question, and the answer doesn't have anything to do with Hitler. The reason he, the Nazis, skinheads, the KKK or any of the other mentally injured groups are all innocent has nothing to do with the level of form.

Hitler, and everyone else in the world, including you, are equally innocent because WHAT YOU ARE SEEING IS NOT TRUE. This is YOUR dream. As the Course teaches, the dream is not being dreamed by somebody else. How can what you’re seeing be true if the separation from God never occurred? Renounce the World

Home is where the heart is. If your heart is with God, then you're already home. Renounce the world, not physically but mentally. As the Course says, 'This world you seem to live is not home to you. And somewhere in your mind you know that this is true.' That attitude will make it ten times easier to forgive.
