An
additional component of forgiveness would be that after you forgive, if
you feel some kind of action is required, then ALWAYS ask the Holy
Spirit if there's anything you should do. Remember, the Holy Spirit
doesn't do anything in the world, EVER. But He CAN inspire you as to
what you should do.
And even though the Holy Spirit doesn’t
do anything in the world, His interpretation of the level of form can
help you see more clearly what you should do here. That’s just a fringe
benefit of choosing Him as your Teacher, not the main reason, which is
salvation.
