What Will Make You Happy?

It's only through disciplined application that the practitioner can enter the glorious phase of experience. Fear or Love

Fear, sin, rage, guilt, jealousy, anger, pain, worry, resentment, revenge, loathing, envy, and all other negative emotions are versions of the same illusion. That's why the Course taught very clearly, before all the borrowers came along, that, ‘Fear and love are the only emotions of which you are capable.’

People who borrow from the Course instead of teaching it generally make one of two mistakes. Either they try to make up a secular version of the Course, which doesn't work because when you leave out God, you're ignoring the one real problem – the seeming separation from Him – or they make up a version that includes God, but is a dualistic system. This also fails to solve the one real problem because of the very nature of duality. How can you undo the separation from God by believing that God created and acknowledges separation? The Problem With "Being in the Now"

Trusting God

In order to really accept God's helper, the Holy Spirit, you must begin to trust God. You cannot trust Him until you recognize that it is not Him, but you, who is responsible for your experiences. You will feel guilty until you understand that this world is not real, and that nothing has really happened. That doesn't mean you shouldn't act responsibly in the illusion. It means you must understand certain things in order to apply the true forgiveness that enables the Holy Spirit to help you the most.

About Mystics

The Atonement Principle

The Atonement principle undoes denial and projection at the level of your mind by forgiving what you perceive, and the Holy Spirit undoes the denial and projection at the metaphysical level of your mind at the same time – as well as undoing the whole idea of separation right along with you.

You must practice forgiveness on the level where your experience is. Yes, you have to understand the metaphysics of the Course in order to understand what you’re doing. But your forgiveness is done here, which means you should be practical – and respectful of other people and their experience. In other words, when you’re living your everyday life, be kind. Your job isn’t to correct others. Just help the Holy Spirit clean up your wrong mind by switching to your right mind, and then leave the rest to Him.

And when we say you should be kind to others, it doesn’t mean you should be in denial about the ego thought system. But don’t try to change others; change your own mind instead.

Notihng But Perfect Oneness

Heaven is real oneness, unlike the idea of being one with the universe, or even one with the mind that is outside of time and space that made the universe. Those ideas are still seemingly outside of God. With true oneness there is only God, and there cannot ever be anything else. That's why no compromise on this idea is possible.

The Course's idea of God is as lofty as it can possibly be, because it is the truth. Oneness cannot be perfect if there is anything else to be aware of. Saving Thousands of Years

A miracle, according to A Course in Miracles, is a shift in perception over to the Holy Spirit’s way of thinking, and not merely a modification of your own thoughts, forms, or circumstances. The Course says that the miracle can progress you much farther and faster along your spiritual path than would have otherwise been possible. You Can Deny the Truth but Can't Ever Lose It

So to make it short and sweet, you fell asleep and started dreaming, and when you are ready to wake up by listening to your memory of God, the Holy Spirit, instead of listening to the ego, then you'll wake up. It's your dream, so only you can wake yourself up.

The Holy Spirit is actually your own Higher Self. But remember, God did not send the Holy Spirit. He was always with you, because even though you could deny the truth, you could never lose it.

Once again, if the dream was created by God and he could wake you up from it, it would be real. It would be a reality that was done to you by an outside force. But it's not. God is still perfect love, and your job is to wake up and return your awareness to where you really are. ~ Your Immortal Reality

Remembering Freedom

There is no change in Heaven because there is no change in God. In the holy instant, in which you see yourself as bright with freedom, you will remember God. For remembering Him IS to remember freedom.

No Freedom Within the Script

The ego’s script is like a carrot and a stick. It tries to suck you into thinking you have freedom within the script, when the only real freedom you will ever find is completely outside the whole mess.

Salvation is Undoing

Use your mind to chose between the body and true spirit, and by doing so forgive the world. It is through your forgiveness that your ego will be undone. As the Course says, "Salvation is undoing."

Purpose of the Body

What could the purpose of the body be but specialness? And it is this that makes it frail and helpless in its own defense. It was conceived to make YOU frail and helpless. The goal of separation is its curse. Yet bodies have no goal. Purpose is of the mind. And minds can change as they desire.

A Course in Miracles is Not A Movement

A Course in Miracles is not a movement; there are more than enough of those. You don't have to take over the world. It doesn't matter whether the Course is popular or not. J knows what he's doing.

Those who are ready for the Course will find it. His Course is unique. It gives an individual a chance to learn that he or she is not an individual, and that they are never alone. It gives you the opportunity to commune with the Holy Spirit and ultimately, God. Real Freedom

The only real freedom you have is to choose to return to God by listening to the Voice for Him, instead of continuing indefinitely within a fixed system that has nothing to do with Him. Your brain isn't hard wired to know God; your mind tells your brain what to do! Sacrifice is Not Love

It is not love that asks a sacrifice. But fear demands the sacrifice of love, for in love's presence fear cannot abide. For hate to be maintained, love must be feared; and only sometimes present, sometimes gone.

God Does Not Respond to Separation

As far as the idea of separation from God goes, because your idea is not of God, He does not respond to it. To respond to it would be to give it reality. If God himself were to acknowledge anything except the idea of perfect oneness, there would no longer be perfect oneness. There would no longer be a perfect state of Heaven for you to return to. You never really left anyway. The New F Word

Pursah: If what the Course is saying is true – that everyone who comes to this world is delusional or else they wouldn’t think they were here in the first place – then if you have a hit book, all it means is that you are admired by a large group of disturbed people.

Gary: That was a joke, right?

Pursah: Yes. Don’t worry about the reactions of people who take jokes like that seriously – whoever they may be. Don’t be defensive and walk on eggshells. Just put it out there. If somebody doesn’t like you because of it, forgive them.

Gary: There was a time, in the very recent past, when I would have used another f word.

Pursah: Now you have the new f word. Forgive them.

No Waiting Period

Your Thoughts, Your Experience

Your thoughts determine your experience of life, not what happens in your life. What happens on the level of form - how long you live, how rich or poor you are, whether or not you're faced with the challenge of heart disease, stroke, cancer, or what have you - was all determined before you ever appeared to be born. The instant you chose the ego on that metaphysical level, everything else was a done deal. That's why life here isn't fair. And don't ask why you should even bother! I just said you do determine your experience with your thoughts, and your experience is what's important.

No Such Thing as Vicarious Salvation

The focus should always be on doing your forgiveness lessons and going home, not on the level of form and the body, which cannot be spiritualized. People are always looking for vicarious salvation. They want to be enlightened by following an enlightened one and having it bestowed on them. It doesn’t work that way. In addition, there are so many people out there presenting themselves as some kind of a master and saying they’re going to teach you ‘mastery,’ that it’s comical. If you drove a nail through the wrist of these people, it would hurt like hell. J really was a master, and he could feel no pain because the guiltless mind cannot suffer.

Virtual Reality Game

The body, the universe, and everything in it are just pictures in your mind, parts of a virtual reality game. Perhaps at times it's a rather convincing forgery of life but it's a fake. Don't look there for your salvation. The World is an Hallucination

How to Get in Touch with Your True Identity

A chief goal of A Course in Miracles is to lead the student to an Identity, and associated experiences, that are not of this world. These non-intellectual experiences, which are paradoxically the result of intellectual processes, are in fact the forerunner to the Holy Spirit's permanent answer to this world.

Strength vs Weakness

If you need something - and you would have to lack it to need it - then you can remember that it's just a substitute for God, and that a sense of separation from God is the only real problem. There's Only One Truth!

Everybody is trying to find and express their truth. Their so-called truth is actually designed to keep them stuck where they are. What J is teaching in his Course is that the truth is not different for everyone. It is not relative. He's saying the truth is the truth whether you understand and agree with it or not. The truth is not subject to your interpretation, and neither is his Course. He's the Teacher, and you're the student. The Real Goal is Heaven

The only real power you have here is the power to choose between the ego and the Holy spirit. In the process, if you happen to change dimensions of time through the Holy Spirit's collapsing of time and thus have a different scenario play itself out within the fixed script, then you should consider that to be a fringe benefit. Feeling Superior

Everyone participates equally in the script and ends up with just as many so-called good lives and bad lives as everyone else. How much money or success you get has absolutely nothing to do with how spiritually enlightened you are. You are the Same as Jesus

The Jesus of A Course in Miracles is not the same version of Jesus in Christianity, and the two thought systems are not compatible. For Christianity, their suffering image of J the body is extra special. He is different than you in the sense that he alone is God's only begotten son. But the J of the Course informs you that because you and he are one, then you are equally God's only begotten Son or Christ - not any different than him - and furthermore, you can eventually experience this.

Looking with Kindness

Even though what you do isn't the focus, what you do is a result of what you think. So sometimes you can tell a lot about people by the way they are. How you treat other people is a pretty good indication of how you feel about yourself. If you're looking at people with hostility, you're saying that you have a mind that's in conflict. If you're looking at them with kindness, it's a symptom of a mind that has peace. Not only that, but it will determine and reinforce how you feel about yourself.

Nothing's Happened

 If nothing's happened, and if the Course teaches anything it's that nothing's happened, then you're innocent. The Universe is Overrated

There's nothing in your universe that doesn't follow the pattern of decay and death, and there's nothing here that can seemingly live without something else dying. Your world is quite impressive until you learn to really look.
