The Ice Sculpture Analogy

I like the analogy of that of an ice sculpture. You have this big block of ice and let’s say you want to carve out a butterfly. Well, the butterfly is already in that block of ice. It’s just a matter of chipping away the excess so that the only thing left is the butterfly. Same thing with us – what we really are, perfect Spirit, perfect Love, is already within us – it’s just a matter of chipping away the excess, which, of course, is the ego.
