When it comes to the illusion of time, you should understand that sin equals the past, guilt equals the present, and fear equals the future. Of course it could be the very immediate future or the distant future. It really doesn't matter. As examples, say you're being robbed at gunpoint and you think you might be killed. Or maybe you're worried about your retirement twenty years from now. Those things are different in form, but really the same. The real reason you're fearful is because you believe you've sinned.
