The
breakup of a long-term relationship sometimes involves going through
some of the same grieving stages you endure with the death of a loved
one. At first there may be anger and then denial, and other stages that
hopefully will lead to acceptance. Even if you’ve engaged in true
forgiveness, any one of those stages can pop up again unexpectedly,
until they are completely healed. People should take the time to grieve.
There are going to be so many memories in your mind, especially if you
had a long relationship, and you need to come to terms with everything.
