Just as the world confuses pain with pleasure, it also confuses sacrifice with love. Yet what is sacrifice in the final analysis but a call for pain? Is that what you really want for the ones you love? Romance is a vain attempt to fill an imagined emptiness – a hole that doesn't really exist, but that you experience as a result of the separation.
