The Holy Spirit Recognizes Your Illusions

The Holy Spirit does recognize your illusions, but without believing in them. And the Holy Spirit appears to you in a way that will work the best for you at that time. No Distinctions in Heaven

Reincarnation is an Illusion

It's wise to remember that even reincarnation is an illusion, because you never actually incarnate into a body. Your experience is what Einstein called an "optical delusion of consciousness." Yes, it looks and feels like you're in a body, but this is a trick of the ego, a false experience. A Billion Dollars

So if you get a billion dollars, you think it's because you've used your mind to attract it, when the truth is it was just your turn. It would have happened anyway because that's the way the script was written, and the way you thought and everything else that seemed to occur was part of the script. A hundred years ago it was considered very spiritual to be poor. Some people would even take a vow of poverty! That's why we say it's all subjective. Fads come and go, but real spirituality remains the same. The right idea is to have a kind of spirituality where you can be happy and peaceful no matter what comes  your way. A Narrow Door to Walk Through

PURSAH: There is a narrow door you can walk through, if you're willing to, and it is this: A truly spiritual attitude would be that there isn't any difference between having a healthy body or a sick body. Why? Because neither one is true.
GARY: Then why should I try to have a healthy body?
ARTEN: The answer is why not? This is a preference, not a rule. You become attached to rules and religions, but with a preference you don't have to be attached to an outcome. It's a choice that you make. But it's not something you're overzealous about. You can lighten up and enjoy life, and be prepared to forgive no matter what appears to happen.

Bodies, Healthy or Sick, are the Same

You can't be attached to outcomes or else you're making the whole thing real. People want to attach a value to everything, including bodies, and they don't realize it's all subjective. If they're on a spiritual path, then they assume that it's more spiritual to have a healthy body than a sick body. But is it? There are athletes who have the healthiest bodies in the world, but they're not necessarily spiritually mature. On the other hand, there are very spiritual people who have sick bodies. Doing Healthy Things

You may think, Why should it matter if I do healthy things when it's my thoughts that run everything? The answer is simple. You're trying to educate your ego. Your ego wants you to think you're a body. You want your ego to be undone so you can go home to what you really are. In order to help the ego relax and allow itself to be undone, you do some bodily things while you appear to be here. And you know what? You'd have to do that anyway! If you just sit on a park bench and meditate for the rest of your life, you're still going to have to eat eventually. Even J ate food, had normal relationships, and communicated with people.

The bottom line is that when it comes to your seeming existence here, you should do things that make sense. And eventually you'll get to the point on your spiritual path where it doesn't make any difference because by thinking those right-minded thoughts, you'll get totally in touch with your experience of spirit all the time. But it's a process. Allow yourself that process.

Totally Taken Care of By God

Pain, as well as your body itself, is a mental process. You're the one who's thinking this pain in your dream. It's not real pain; it's a dream of pain, and you're the dreamer. The pain is in your mind, just like the entire dream is. And if it's in your mind, you can change your mind about it. Then, once you're very clear that it's a mental process, tell yourself the same thing the Course says, "The guiltless mind cannot suffer." After a couple of minutes, when you're very clear about that, then tell yourself: I'm innocent, and God loves me unconditionally. All God wants to do is take care of me forever, because God knows I'm just as innocent as God Itself. Picture yourself joining with God and extending into infinity. Magic

There is nothing wrong with using what A Course in Miracles refers to as "magic." Magic is when you try to heal an illusion by using other illusions - for example, trying to heal pain by using medicine or surgery. Those methods are often necessary for people to be healed. If they were healed spontaneously without magic, their ego may become too fearful and find an even worse way to hurt them. There's nothing wrong with throwing the ego a bone once in a while, especially if you know you're doing it. Besides, everything in the illusion is magic. Water is magic. Oxygen is magic. The Universe is Not Infinite

Many believe that your universe is infinite, but it's not infinite. As the Course teaches, through the Holy Spirit, there were limits put on your ability to mis-create. And all will eventually accept the truth. As J also teaches, "The acceptance of the Atonement by everyone is only a mater of time. This may appear to contradict free will because of the inevitability of the final decision, but this is not so." So the only free will you really have as prisoners in the illusion is the ability to choose the Holy Spirit, which frees us, instead of the ego, which imprisons us. If you choose to stay here, the outcome is always eventually death. But if you choose to go home, the outcome is eternal life.

Anger is Never Justified

You can tell it’s time to forgive if you don’t feel peaceful. You may be irritated, or annoyed, or even angry. That’s because some unconscious guilt in your mind, which you’re not even aware of because it’s unconscious, has been activated. You know the Course says, “Anger is never justified.” That’s because you are doing this to yourself. The dream is not being dreamed by somebody else, remember?

So the Course focuses on forgiving the ego’s thought system of fear that’s there in your own unconscious. And all the negative emotions can be put under that one category, fear. Anything that doesn’t have a negative effect on you is something you don’t have to worry about. In fact, the Course says that if you’re with somebody and there’s nothing to forgive, you should celebrate!

Orgy of Capitalism

This year, instead of making the holidays the usual orgy of capitalism, make them what they should be. Think about God, and about what your brothers and sisters really are. Remembering the word LIGHT is synonymous with TRUTH, think about these beautiful words that J gave us as a present to all those who love his Course: The sign of Christmas is a star, a light in darkness. See it not outside yourself, but shining in the Heaven within, and accept it as the sign the time of Christ has come.

Don't Expect Good Things to Happen

We want to caution you. Just because you practice forgiveness, it doesn't mean you'll always switch to a pleasant outcome. And YOU don't determine whether you switch dimensions of time. Only the Holy Spirit can do that, because the Holy Spirit can see the big picture and you can't. Obviously, Jesus was not given pleasant things to experience at the end of his earthly adventures, but the Holy Spirit knew he could handle it. His forgiveness was so advanced that he was healed of all guilt and thus couldn't feel any pain. So don't always expect good things to happen. Human Race Switching Dimensions of Time

All the predictions we made about the future in our first two series of visits could possibly become null and void if the human race were to switch to another dimension of time. If enough people practiced forgiveness, you could  switch to a different scenario. And it would also be possible for the  Holy Spirit to erase the old tape. Live Your Life Without Being Attached

The Experience of time

Time is holographic, yet the choices you make here appear to be linear. That's the paradox of time. In terms of the hologram, it has already happened, but in your linear experience, you've still go to do it. Giving Your Illusions to the Truth

Remember what everything is for, no matter what happens. That's one of the things that makes this teaching so consistent and important: You always know what everything is for. It's to use for forgiveness. Instead of giving truth to your illusions, you can give your illusions to the truth. The Course is very clear in its explanations of this. For example, "The world is an illusion. Those who choose to come to it are seeking for a place where they can be illusions, and avoid their own reality. The Problem of Human Existence

Love is the answer to the problem of human existence; it's also the way home. Of course what most quickly facilitates the experience of love is true forgiveness, which is why we always come back to that. But remember the word LOVE in the Course is a term that's representative of a complete thought system - the thought system of the Holy Spirit. And the word FEAR in the Course is also representative of a complete thought system - the thought system of the ego. The two thought systems are mutually exclusive and can never be reconciled. You have to choose one or the other or else your mind will be split. Don't Be Needy

You shouldn't be going after a person because you need him or her. If you need someone, you're deprived. But if you don't need the individual, then you can join with that person out of a mutual awareness of abundance.

It applies to relationships, money, anything. What matters is that you're doing things with the love of the Holy Spirit, and not for the glorification of the ego. Say No to Reincarnation

Most people who are into spirituality assume that when the body passes away and they go to the so-called afterlife, they then make decisions and contracts and commitments as to how and what they're going to do in their next incarnation. No! Those incarnations are already over. What they do is reexperience a movie that's already been filmed. Now, what people call the afterlife is actually an in-between life. It's the period spent between one dream lifetime, the details of which had already been determined, and the next dream lifetime, the details of which have already been determined. You Can Forgive the World

You can forgive the world. All you have to do is forgive whatever comes up in front of your face on any given day. The relationships you seem to be in, the situations you seem to be stuck in, the awful events you sometimes see on television or maybe even in person, the bad memories that come into your mind – all can be forgiven. They’re all the same. You can forgive other bodies, or you can forgive your own body. They’re the same, too. You can release the resentment that you have toward others or the regrets that you have about your own life. The Rock of God

People come up to me sometimes on a break at a workshop; and they think they have to give up money, sexy their goals and dreams, and even their relationships. I've got news for them. Thirty or forty years from now, they'll have to do that anyway. The body isn't gonna last forever. So why not use that time to build something that WILL last forever. THAT is the difference between building your house upon the rock or upon the sand. And you know what? You can still have the sand, too! You can live your normal life, forgive as you go along, and still build your house upon the rock of God. Enjoy It More

As you forgive others you're forgiven, so you get more in touch with your innocence. You feel less guilty. I think it's ironic that even though you're realizing more and more that the world isn't real, you actually end up enjoying it more, not less. I mean, when people first get into this kind of work, they think that they're giving something up by seeing it as being a dream that's not real. But what I find is that I enjoy my life more. It's like when I go tot he movies, I know it's not real, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying it. In fact, I enjoy it more. I like listening to music more today than ever. To me, this isn't about giving up the walks on the beach or the beautiful sunsets or the great art. The Universe is Coming from You

As you get used to the idea of the world coming FROM you instead of AT you, it becomes more and more impossible for you to react to it the way you used to. Now forgiveness is justified. Stop Making it Real

What would the Holy Spirit advise you to do about a situation? STOP MAKING IT REAL. Your judgments and reactions make it real, but now you can realize that the reason you see people as being guilty is because you wanted the guilt to be in them instead of you. So to undo it, you reverse the projection. You realize the guilt is NOT in them but in you, except it's not really in you either, because the whole concept of guilt was made up by the ego to make it real!

Intelligence Without Love

The thing to remember is that REAL love forgives everyone and everything without exception. It knows what people really are. They're not real people. They're perfect love, which is the same way they were created by God. They may think they're people. They may even think they're intelligent. But let me tell you something: intelligence without love is nothing. So the kind of real love we're talking about would not be people's love but the Holy Spirit's love. A Superficial Teaching

If you tell people to choose love instead of fear, which is a superficial teaching unless it's explained much further, most of them will think you're talking about THEIR love. But that's not what the Course is talking about. It's talking about the perfect love of God. Perfect Love Cast Out Fear

Real love is perfect love. It's not the world's idea of love. This love is not only perfect, but as both the Bible and A Course in Miracles say, "Perfect love cast out fear." Perfect love and fear cannot coexist. Perfect love is all-encompassing. This is a kind of love that you cannot withhold from anyone or else you will not experience it for yourself. The Source of Your Projection

You assign the reason for your upset to be something outside of yourself, because that's where you projected it. So you think you're upset because you're not going to have enough money for your retirement, or because the terrorists are going to blow up your airplane, and you forget that it's not the projection at all that's really upsetting you, but its source in the mind. Fundamental Shifts

As you forgive, there will be fundamental shifts that will be taking place in your unconscious mind, and eventually your experience will start to change. Forgiveness Releases People

True forgiveness releases people because they haven't really done anything, because you're the one who made them up in the first place. What you're seeing is YOUR projection of a universe of time and space. You've taken responsibility for making it up, not in a bad way but in a powerful way. Now you're coming from cause and not effect. This is the thought reversal that the Course is talking about.

Forgive the Bastards

I used to think it would take a tremendous amount of work to forgive the world like J did. But what I'v learned more and more as I go along is that it actually takes more time to judge people than it does to forgive them! I mean, you you go along, forgiveness becomes so much a part of you that eventually you won't have to think about it as much. It will become more and more automatic. So the amount of time it takes to do it decreases over the years. But you spend your time judging people, now you have to make up some story about about why they're not worthy of your forgiveness. It's Not a Religion

A Course in Miracles is not a religion. It's not something you have to believe in or proselytize for. You don't have to convince anyone it's the right way. At the end of the day, spirituality is a personal thing. It's something that's done between you and the Holy Spirit or Jesus or Y'shua or whatever you want to call it. It doesn't matter. In the end, it leads to a personal experience of our intimate relationship with God. Spiritual Sight

The Holy Spirit doesn't think in terms of separation. It sees wholeness everywhere. And by "sees" I mean that's the way the Holy Spirit thinks. It's the way you THINK that constitutes spiritual sight. It doesn't have anything to do with the body's eyes, even though you can see symbols of spirit in the world. They're still just symbols. Reality cannot be seen with the body's eyes, but it can be experienced by the mind.

If you want to return to spirit, think like the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit overlooks the body, which is a false image, and thinks of the truth that is beyond the veil of illusion. This truth is perfect oneness and innocence, exactly the same as God. And thinking of other people that way IS spiritual sight.

Contrast

The ego loves differences. How can you have judgment without differences? How can you have war and murder and violence without differences? So the ego wants you to think that all this separation you're seeing is true. That's what makes it real for you - your belief in it. That's what gives it its power. That's what gives it power over you. The ego craves contrasts and cons you into believing in them in the world, but the Holy Spirit sees sameness. Yes, the Holy Spirit will contrast its thought system with the thought system of the ego. In Your Natural State

In your natural state you're no different from God, and it's not arrogance to think that. It's arrogance to think that somehow you could be separate from God. No Namaste for You

There are many in India who practice an idea that we’ve (Americans) have borrowed from them. You see and hear it at a lot of Unity churches in this country. It’s the idea of Namaste, which means, “The divinity in me bows down to the divinity in you.” That’s certainly a step in the right direction, but, it doesn’t go far enough.

When you say, “The divinity in me bows down to the divinity in you,” you’re limiting that person to a tiny speck of time and space. You’re making individuality real. You’re also making the two of you separate, like a subject and an object. What J did was overlook the body. It’s not that his body’s eyes didn’t appear to see other bodies. But he understood that he wasn’t seeing with the body’s eyes and that he wasn’t actually in a body. He knew what he was seeing with was his mind. ~ Love Has Forgotten No One

Seeing Others

When people get into this kind of work, they often focus on the fact that life is an illusion, which is NOT the thing you want to be focusing on. That's because if it's true that as you see them you will see yourself, and it IS true, then if you go through life seeing people and the world as an illusion, then you will eventually think of yourself in your own unconscious mind as an illusion. You'll feel empty and meaningless, which will leave you depressed.

Remember, your unconscious mind will translate whatever you think about others to be a message about YOU. That's because even though you're not aware of it, your unconscious mind knows everything, including the fact that there's just one of you that thinks it's here. That's why everything you think about others is really a message from you, to you, and about you. And that's how your unconscious mind will think of it. You're It

People may appear to be separate because what they're seeing is a projection that's based on the idea of separation, but that's a trick. No matter how many times the ego appears to divide, it's just an illusion. There's really only one being that thinks it has separated itself from its Source. Yes, it's appearing as many, but there's really always just one, and you're it. Yet the mind appears to keep dividing. then it projects those divisions, which results in more and more people appearing to be here in the projection. But it's all smoke and mirrors. The Terminator

The one real problem is the idea that we've separated ourselves from God, and the one real solution is to undo the idea of separation and go home. In order to lead us home, the Holy Spirit gives us the simple truth in the face of the ego's complexities. But the ego won't quit. It's like the Terminator - it just keeps coming. Projection Follows Denial

A psychologist will tell you that projection always follows denial. That's because when you deny something, it has to go somewhere. Now once something is denied, it becomes unconscious, and the Course speaks volumes about denial. So you forget that you denied it, and then when it's projected outward, you think the projection you're looking at is reality. You forget that you made it, because it's been denied! So it's your projection, but you're not aware of that. And then the Course teaches that "projection makes perception." That means you actually made what you're looking at, but then you forgot, and you take it as as reality. You forget that's it's a mis-creation of your own making.

As J puts it, "Is it not strange that you believe to think you made the world you see is arrogance? God made it not. Of this you can be sure. What can He know of the ephemeral, the sinful and the guilty, the afraid, the suffering and lonely, and the mind that lives within a body that must die? The Answer

A Course in Miracles is teaching that the full awareness of the Atonement "is the recognition that the separation never occurred." In other words, the separation is a delusion, a dream, a projection of a universe of time and space. And the answer to that delusion cannot be found on our own with just our intellect, which the ego often uses to keep us seemingly stuck here. The separation is a false experience. And the REAL answer to the separation is to replace it with a true experience, which is the awareness of perfect Oneness with God. You're Not a Victim of God

The first thing you gotta do is top being a victim. For example, if this world was made by God, then you would be a victim of God. The Experience of Time

We experience time as linear and that we're making all of this up as we go along. That's a false experience. The truth is holographic. It all already happened. And if it all already happened, then you can't be making it up as you go along. You don't get to create the way that it is. You already did that at the beginning of time. Everything that appeared to happen after that was already a done deal. Most people don't like that idea, yet that idea is part of a thought system that, if they were to understand and apply it, could save them an incredible amount of time with their illusory experience. Forgiveness at the Level of Cause

It's by forgiving the world that you will awaken, and realize that you never left Heaven, and have remained exactly as God created you, which is perfect spirit. As J puts it, reminding us again that his themes in the Course are simple and consistent, "You are as God created you. All else but this one thing is folly to believe. In this one thought is everyone set free. In this one truth are all illusions gone. But always remember the forgiveness that leads to this experience must be done at the level of cause and not effect, as J points out very early in the Text, "You must change your mind, not your behavior, and this is a matter of willingness. You do not need guidance except at the mind level. Correction belongs only at the level where change is possible. A Slippery Slope

Don't be discouraged by those who borrow form the Course instead of teaching it. There are even people who teach the Course exclusively who fail to understand it. They'll think that the Course is open to their interpretation. Yet if it were, it would be useless. What makes the Course unique is that what it says is NOT open to interpretation. It says there is no world and only God is real. The way to awaken from the dream of death is through total, uncompromising forgiveness of people because they haven' really done anything, which is how to forgive yourself. Any other interpretation is folly.

Yet you have Course teachers who are right there, making the Holy Spirit out to be like a real person acting on your behalf out in a world that the Course says doesn't even exist, quickly taking the student's attention away from where it should be, on the cause instead of the effect, and delaying the student's progress. Then on top of that it's a slippery slope from making the world real to eventually ending up like Pat Robertson and telling everybody exactly how they should behave in that illusory world, or else.

Don't ever fall into that trap. Respect what the Course says. Honor the memory of Helen and Bill by telling people the truth about how it came and what it says Don't compromise, don't sell out, and don't worry about what people think. What About Non-Judgment

Gary: I have a question. What about simple non-judgment? Isn't non-judgment the same as forgiveness?

Pursah: That's an excellent question. It's true that the ego cannot survive without judgment, so if someone actually practiced complete non-judgment, then it would eventually undo the ego, as Buddha did, except he had a little bit more to do, so even he came back one more time. The problem is that it takes longer to do it in the simple non-judgment way, and it's actually harder to do. It's much better if you have the Holy Spirit's thought system to replace that which the ego has made.

J not only practiced non-judgment, he also employed a proactive form of forgiveness to change the way he looked at everything, thus greatly accelerating the process. That's why he emphasizes that the Course saves time. His background in Jewish mysticism and Buddhism brought him to a faster version of salvation by not only undoing the ego, but actually replacing the ego thought system with the thought system of the Holy Spirit.

Diluting the Message of A Course in Miracles

There are many spiritual teachers who are diluting the message of A Course in Miracles by teaching methods they claim are in agreement with the Course when they actually are not. This confuses the student by diverting attention from what the Course is teaching to something different, which the teachers of apparently don't even understand are different, or else they wouldn't be presenting them as though they're the same by quoting the Course out of context to support their teachings.

One good example is the teaching that one should be in the now. Keep in mind that we're not saying there's anything wrong with the the idea that there may be some good in focusing on the now rather than the past or the future. The quality of life would be improved. The problem is that doing so cannot remove the unconscious guilt over the original separation from God that's still hidden in the deep recesses of the mind. Because of that, it makes each experience of being in the now temporary by definition, because it fails to remove the blocks that prevent that experience from being permanent. All of which is to say that there's not just a minor difference between the approach of The Power of Now and the real power of A Course in Miracles. It's the difference between being temporarily in the now of an illusion, or being permanently in the presence of reality.

The Guiltless Mind Cannot Suffer

The focus should always be on doing your forgiveness lessons and going home, not on the level of form and the body, which cannot be spirituzlied. People are always looking for vicarious salvation. They want to be enlightened by following an enlightened one and having it bestowed on them. It doesn't work that way. In addition, there are so many people out there presenting themselves as some kind of a master and saying they're going to teach you "mastery," that it's comical. If you drove a nail through the wrist of these people,, it would hurt like hell. People Are Born with the Ego Intact

The people of the world will never live in peace until the people of the world have inner peace. The problem must be solved on the level of cause, not the level of effect. Many famous teachers, from Marianne Williamson to David Hawkins, teach that people are born innocent, with a clean slate, and are then messed up by the world. IT'S NOT TRUE. People are born with the ego intact. It then plays itself out. If the ego weren't already there, then they never would have come here in the first place! Still, every lifetime is an opportunity to undo the ego and break the cycle of birth and death. And in the meantime, if you want to have world peace, the only way to do it in a lasting and meaningful way is to bring about a condition of inner peace within the people who appear to be here. Dividing is What the Ego Does

Dividing is what the ego does. Everything in the world separates, even if only through death, because everything here is symbolic of the thought of separation. Don't fear that. It will always happen as long as there appears to be any kind of form. There has never been a church or spiritual organization that didn't undergo some kind of a split, usually sooner rather than later. Your job is to forgive it. Do the Course. If there appear to be divisions on the level of form within the Course community, understand that the way out of it is not on the level of form, it's through the forgiveness of the level of form. Making a Living as a Scientist

Science can be helpful, especially when physics demonstrates that you can't really separate one thing from something else. People need to take such ideas and apply them for themselves, because very few scientists are willing to take ideas like that to their logical extension. They know that the universe is an illusion, yet they're not willing to tell anybody that it's not real! That's what happens when you need to make a living as a scientist. An Apparition is Not Reality

I heard Marianne talking to someone who saw an apparition of a split mind who had gone on to the other side, and she said to the person who saw it, "That's reality." Well, according to the Course, that's NOT reality. She's confusing people. It obscures the choice that needs to be made. Reality is perfect oneness with God, and nothing else exists - nothing that changes, nothing that appears separate. Nothing. I've also gotten e-mails from her where she tries to get people to take certain actions in the world, like stopping genocide, and she actually included a quote form Dante, the one that says, "There is a special place in hell reserved for those who, in times of moral crisis, remain neutral." I mean, talk about trying to get people to do something in the illusion by making them feel guilty! What does that have to do with A Course in Miracles? ~ Your Immortal Reality

The next time you get upset with someone's behavior, think of their body as being a wind-up toy. The Course is Purely Non-Dualistic

The Course is saying the same thing all the way through. From the Text, to the Workbook, and through the Manual, the Course is a purely non-dualistic teaching. It's consistent. And if that's true, and it certainly is, then it means there's only one authentic way to interpret it. In the Text, J says, "Appearances can but deceive the mind that wants to be deceived. And you can make a simple choice that will forever place you far beyond deception." It's Not What You Do

It's not what you do. It's whom you do it with, the ego or the Holy Spirit. Each choice leads to a totally different experience. People may thing they can judge others by what they do, but that's not always the case. Somebody may have a job where they have to do things that may not appear to be spiritual to the world. Protesting the War

It's interesting to watch peace activists and environmental activists. I know some peace activists who hate people. They're out there protesting against the war, which is cool, but what it's really about for them is getting their political opponents whom they hate, or the greedy corporate pigs who they think are exploiting everybody. But those corporate leaders are just people, like everybody else. Yeah, maybe they have an addiction to money, but almost everybody's after something. The interesting thing to me is, if you're against the war thinking about how much you're opposed to your political opponents, then you're doing it with the ego as your teacher. But you could do exactly the same thing with the Holy Spirit as your teacher, and it would be a totally different experience.

From that perspective, it's not about getting your political opponents or expressing your outrage at the powers that be. Now you're protesting against the war as an expression of what you are, which is love, with the idea of having a more loving world. That's a totally different place to be coming from. So it's not what you do that matters. Either way you could be out on the street protesting. Nobody else would be able to tell what's going on in your mind, but for you, it's now about love. Don't Give the Ego an Inch

J's message was a clear as could be. He never compromised on it, and neither should you. If you give the ego an inch, it will take a mile. That's excellent, because one of the reasons we appear to you is to help prevent J's message from getting distorted the way it did 2,000 years ago. The Real World

The Holy Spirit is all you need. Then you can let go of the world you thought was yours, and exchange it for the real world. Can't Believe in the Body

J's real message is the OPPOSITE of making the body real. In fact, if you want to be like J, then you want to eventually experience that the body is meaningless. Instead of believing in the body, you want to get to the point where you CAN'T believe it. The Guiltless Mind Cannot Suffer

The guiltless mind cannot suffer. It blows the whole idea of glorifying sacrifice right out of the water. Because pain is not a physical process, it's a mental process, and if you healed all the unconscious guilt in the mind, then you couldn't feel any pain. That changes the message of the Crucifixion from the idea of worshiping suffering and sacrifice to a demonstration that if you were healed, then it would be impossible for you to feel any pain or to suffer. The Passion of the Christ

The movie, The Passion of the Christ, like the religion it's about, glorifies suffering and sacrifice. And people were bringing their nine and ten year old kids to see this thing, and when they were coming out of the theater, you could just see the look on their faces, as if they were saying to the kids, "There, you see? You see what Jesus did for you? You see how he suffered and sacrificed himself for you? You guilty little bastards. Now what are you gonna do for him? You're gonna be a Christian, right?"

And there you have makings of a very successful religion. Because if you want to get people to do something in this world, including impressionable children, make them feel guilty. You could make them believe in Santa Claus until they're 30 if you found a way to use guilt and nobody told them any better. And in this case, nobody's telling them any better. Symbol of Compassion

A lot of the time J has been portrayed as a suffering, angst-ridden figure. That's not what he was like at all. He was a peaceful figure with a gentle smile. His eyes were clear and loving. There was no fear in him because he knew that there was nothing to fear. Nothing the world could do to him could affect him. He was not a body. He did not think of himself as being special. Only In That View

The Course says, "Forgiveness recognizes what you thought your brother did to you has not occurred. It does not pardon sins and make them real. It sees there was no sin. And in that view are all your sins forgiven." I might add that ONLY in that view are all your sins forgiven. If the world is real, then sins are real and they're guilty, which means you're guilty, or at least that's the way it will translate into your unconscious. Get it? If they're innocent because they haven't really done anything, then you're innocent because you haven't really done anything. Once again, that'the kind of an idea that's definitive. Anger is Never Justified

A definitive statement in the Course would be the idea that anger is never justified. If you made the whole thing up, then who is there to be angry at? And a related definitive idea would be, "The secret of salvation is but this: That you are doing this unto yourself." What is Not Love is Murder

If there are no degrees, aspects, or intervals in reality, and levels only exist in the dream of separation, then that means there are really only two things you can do. Every forgiving thought is an expression of love; every unforgiving thought is a murder. It doesn't matter if there isn't a corpse. Each day the earth turns is a day full of murders without corpses..people thinking unforgiving thoughts toward one another. As J says in no uncertain terms, "What is not love is murder. The Body Doesn't Exist!

You should always remember that whatever appears to happen is just a dream. The reason the Course says that reincarnation isn't true is because it's an illusion. It appears to happen, but you never really go into a body, it just looks that way. It's an optical illusion. Why? Well, for one thing the Course teaches that the body doesn't even exist! The Real Goal is Heaven

The real goal is Heaven, but the short-term goal is peace, and the end of all pain and suffering. It's absolutely within your means to learn to end all pain and suffering, despite anything that appears to be happening in the world and regardless of what your symptoms appears to be. That's the Holy Spirit's answer to the ego's script of guilt, pain, suffering, and death. ~ Your Immortal Reality

The Only Real Power

The only real power you have here is the power to choose between the ego and the Holy Spirit. In the process, if you happen to change dimensions of time through the Holy Spirit's collapsing of time and thus have a different scenario play itself out within the fixed script, then you should consider that to be be a fringe benefit. Your Life is Pre-Determined

Your thoughts determine your experience of life, not what happens in your life. What happens on the level of form - how long you live, how rich or poor you are, whether or not you're faced with the challenge of heart disease, stroke, cancer, or what have you - was all determined before you ever appeared to be born. The instant you chose the ego on that metaphysical level, everything else was a done deal. That's why life here isn't fair. And don't ask why you should even bother?
